philosophy

We all long to be seen, heard and understood. We want to know we matter and that we belong. These are core desires every human shares. But there are difficult and painful experiences in life that distort our view of ourselves and the world around us.

Those experiences can create a narrative that cause us to doubt whether or not we do, in fact, matter and that we do have a place of belonging.

There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.
— C.S. Lewis

What if in the midst of these questions of self-worth you could begin to safely explore wounds that were inflicted and find hope in the healing process? What if this was the foundation to build a sense of true identity and worth?

No man can know where he is going unless he knows exactly where he has been and exactly how he arrived at his present place.
— Maya Angelou

  • In the fall of 2023, I became an LPC Supervisor with the hopes of training, teaching and sowing Into future counselors. If you are an LPC-Associate and would be interested in supervision, please reach out via the contact section.

I believe we were created to abound & flourish. However, we all face difficulties and challenges in life that may prevent us from experiencing true meaning and purpose.

approach

I have a passion for coming alongside my clients by helping them navigate through areas in life where they feel disoriented and lost. I desire that in the midst of your pain and struggle you will find healing that paves the way for you to experience life, abounding & flourishing.

I sit with each client as the unique individual they are and counsel through a process-oriented exploration of the relationship between your past and how it informs present ways of relating. I am also EMDR certified and incorporate this into my counseling when it is a good fit for the client.

Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.
— Kahil Gibran

I specialize in working with individuals in their struggles with anxiety/depression, grief/loss, shame/guilt, spiritual, identity and relationship issues, sexual abuse and trauma. I am interested in learning how I might be able to serve you and look forward to hearing from you.

Receding from grief, it seems necessary to retrace the same steps that brought us there.
